Knowledge Dissemination Conference Grant Program
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has developed programs to put research findings into practice. This is achieved by bringing new science-based knowledge to community-based prevention, identification, and treatment of mental and addictive disorders.
These conferences have proven to be an effective and efficient method to disseminate knowledge to a wide audience and promote the transfer of knowledge into practice. The Knowledge Dissemination Conference grant program encourages regions, states, and communities to disseminate knowledge about practices to diverse audiences, including providers, practitioners, researchers, advocates, consumers, family members, and the general public.
Conference grant awards are limited to 75 percent of the proposed conference’s total direct costs up to a maximum of $50,000. Since 1998, the Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) has supported conferences in 22 states.
