Mental Health ProgramsAbout CMHSFrances Randolph, D.P.H.
Dr. Randolph was recently made Director of the Division of Services and Systems Improvement in the Center for Mental Health Services, SAMHSA. In this capacity she oversees the Community Support Programs Branch, the Children, Adolescence and Families Branch and the Homeless Programs Branch. Prior to becoming the Division Director, Dr. Randolph was the Chief of the Homeless Programs Branch. Dr. Randolph has also worked for the Center for Mental Health Services' Community Support Program where she was a project officer of federally-funded community-based services for people with serious mental illness. Previous to her Federal career, Dr. Randolph also worked at: the National Association for State Mental Health Program Directors where she provided technical assistance on co-occurring disorders to state mental health authorities; the Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation at Boston University where she conducted a national survey on housing for persons with serious mental illness and a study on transitioning psychiatric patients into the community; and Hawaii=s Department of Mental Health where she did mental health policy studies. She has done research on housing and residential service needs for persons with mental illnesses, on the community-based service needs of elderly persons with mental illness and on outcome measures in services research. In addition, Dr. Randolph has been an evaluation consultant and has conducted evaluation seminars for the International Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services and for the Federal government. She has numerous publications. Dr. Randolph received her masters and doctorate from the School of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley.
