Assistance for People in the Washington, DC Area

  • Maryland--In Montgomery County, call the Crisis Center at 240-777-4000. In Montgomery County or the rest of the state of Maryland, call the State Crisis Hotline at 800-422-0009.
  • Virginia--Call the Community Resilience Project of Northern Virginia at 866-400-2951.
  • District of Columbia--Call 1-888-7 WE HELP (1-888-793-4357) for crisis counseling 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Also, Mobile Crisis Treams are available to go on any school and community group needing them.
