Disability Mentoring Day Links Job Seekers With Disabilities and Employers

This year's federal celebration of Disability Mentoring Day (DMD) will take place in the Washington, DC area on Wednesday, October 15, 2003. On DMD students and job seekers with disabilities have the opportunity to spend part of a day visiting a business, a non-profit agency, or government agency that matches their interests and have one-on-one time with volunteer Workplace Mentors. It is an opportunity to underscore the connection between school and work, evaluate personal goals, target career skills for improvement, explore possible career paths, and develop lasting mentor relationships.

If you are a young person with a disability, live in the Washington D.C. metro area, or are interested in being a DMD mentee, please contact either Jack McNeill at jack.mcneill@mindspring.com or 202 268-5607 or Ollie Cantos at 202 457-0046 (Extension 22) by Thursday October 9, 2003.
