    National Alcohol Screening Day (NASD)
    NASD is an annual observance designed to raise public awareness about the consequences of at-risk drinking and the effects of alcohol on general health. NASD is a program of Screening for Mental Health, Inc., a nonprofit organization developed to coordinate nationwide mental health screening programs. The web site provides facts on alcohol problems and information about registering for this year's April 7, 2005, event; hosting a screening day event; and getting to know 2005 event sponsors.

    Leadership to Keep Children Alcohol Free
    Leadership to Keep Children Alcohol Free is an initiative backed by a coalition of Governors' spouses, Federal agencies, and public and private organizations to prevent the use of alcohol by children ages 9 to 15. The web site provides breaking headlines, statistics, research news, legislative updates, prevention resources, publications, and effective alcohol prevention strategies.

    National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare
    The National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare is a nonprofit trade association that serves the education, advocacy, and networking needs of more than 800 community providers of mental health and addiction treatment services. The web site provides information about membership, current public policy issues, learning resources, principles for behavioral healthcare, and related web sites for additional information.

    American Council on Alcoholism (ACA)
    ACA educates the public about the effects of alcohol and alcoholism and advocates for prompt, effective, readily available, and affordable alcoholism treatment. The web site provides a glossary of terms related to alcoholism, frequently asked questions, selected readings, and alcoholism-related links.

    National Association of Drug Court Professionals (NADCP)
    NADCP seeks to reduce substance abuse, crime, and recidivism by promoting and advocating for the establishment and funding of drug courts and by providing for the collection and dissemination of information, technical assistance, and mutual support to association members. The web site provides legislative updates and Congressional contact information, publications, facts on drug courts, related links, and information on training and technical assistance.

    Adult Children of Alcoholics World Service Organization, Inc. (ACA)
    ACA offers a 12-step program to support adults who grew up in dysfunctional families with alcohol and/or drug abuse. The web site provides answers to frequently asked questions, as well as information about AA meetings, ongoing and special events, intergroup connections, and the history and practices of AA.
