    American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP)
    AFSP supports research projects to further the understanding and treatment of depression and the prevention of suicide. The web site offers information on research, coping, and treatment techniques for those who lost a loved one to suicide and referrals for individuals who are contemplating suicide.

    Suicide Information & Education Centre (SIEC)
    SIEC is the largest English-language suicide information resource center and library in the world, housing more than 22,000 print and audiovisual materials on all aspects of suicidal behavior. The web site offers a variety of resources for parents, teachers, and mental health professionals who may come in contact with individuals who are contemplating suicide.

    The American Association of Suicidology (AAS)
    AAS sponsors conferences and training programs on suicide prevention and intervention and offers publications on suicide assessment and prediction, treatment, legal issues, special populations, crisis intervention, and support programs. The web site offers information on current research, upcoming events, funding opportunities for researchers in the field, and contacts for local crisis centers nationwide.

    Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA)
    DBSA is a nonprofit organization run by and for people with depressive disorders and their families. The Alliance sponsors a nationwide network of support groups and informs and educates families, professionals, and the public about the symptoms, treatments, medications, and research related to depressive and manic-depressive illnesses. The web site offers an on-line screening test for bipolar disorder, referrals to support groups nationwide for individuals who suffer from mood disorders and their families, and information on mental health policy initiatives.
