    National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA)
    NEDA raises public awareness of eating disorders, promotes access to quality treatment for those affected, and provides support for the families of those with eating disorders. The web site provides up-to-date information for parents and families about eating disorders, treatment referrals, advocacy activities, and related web sites and resources.

    The Food and Nutrition Information Center (FNIC)
    Part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, FNIC is a leading source of on-line global nutrition information. The web site provides more than 2,000 links to current and reliable information sources, including related web resources, searchable databases, and bibliographies of books, audiovisuals, and articles on a wide range of subjects.

    Clemson University Nutrition Information and Resource Center (NIRC)
    NIRC provides information about food science and nutrition. The web site provides access to general nutrition information, as well as reliable information on food safety, vitamin supplements, nutrition for people with chronic diseases, fitness and sports nutrition, nutrition resources for teachers, good nutrition with limited financial resources, ongoing findings and research, community resources, and cooking and recipes.

    Girl Power!
    Girl Power! is a national public education campaign, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, to help encourage and motivate girls between the ages of 9 and 13 to make the most of their lives. The web site offers information and resources on a wealth of topics, including body image, healthy eating, fitness, and eating disorders.

    National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI)
    NHLBI conducts and supports research related to the causes, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of heart, blood vessel, lung, and blood diseases, as well as sleep disorders. The web site provides dependable information on a variety of diseases and conditions, ongoing research and clinical trials, current news and events, funding opportunities, and training and career development. Includes special sections for patients and the public, health professionals, and researchers.

    National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK)
    Part of the National Institutes of Health, NIDDK conducts and supports research on many of the most serious diseases affecting public health, including diabetes, digestive diseases, and kidney diseases. The web site provides information on these diseases and a special section on weight loss and control.

    Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
    As part of its Futures Initiative, the CDC has established an obesity Trailblazer Team to bring an agency-wide cross-cutting focus to combating the problem of overweight and obesity in the United States. About 15 CDC divisions and programs currently conduct overweight and obesity-related public health activities.
