A New Year for NCTIC!Growing the National Network for Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) Transformation The National Center for Trauma-Informed Care is instrumental in facilitating awareness and expertise on the implementation of traumainformed care (TIC). NCTIC is guided by the fundamental beliefs that (1) people with lived experience of trauma can recover and heal, (2) TIC is the key to promoting health and recovery; and (3) the leadership and integration of consumer/survivors into TIC program implementation is fundamental in bringing about program efficacy and effectiveness for both program staff and for people seeking services. In its first two years, NCTIC has responded to an extraordinary number and range of systems and programs requesting technical assistance and consultation to implement TIC. This experience has prepared NCTIC to be poised, in its 3rd year, to address two major priorities: 1) TIC integration into state mental health system transformation; and 2) TIC integration that incorporates peer leadership in trauma integration teams.
