    Consumer Affairs Forge Ahead

    Stigma
A pamphlet, developed with substantial consumer/survivor input, on how to address stigma will soon be available from the Information Center. On Our Own of Maryland, Inc. has also been contracted to provide stigma training to SAMHSA staff and others in the Washington, D.C., area.

    Self-Help Group Inventory
Planning has begun for a national survey documenting the contributions of self-help groups.

    Full Agenda
Continued expansion of consumer/survivor initiatives over the coming year is planned. The range of issues that will be pursued include involuntary treatment/coercion; access to Internet and related technologies; dialogues between consumers/survivors and psychiatrists; international networking; additional topic-focused teleconferences; publication of a monograph on consumer/survivor-operated services; and development of additional materials for consumer/survivor communities.
