Preventing Youth Violence:
Communities Take Action

Resources

Each ACTION pamphlet includes a list of contributors whose experiences form the core of these pamphlets. They have been involved in SAMHSA’s CMHS School and Community Action Grants or Youth Violence Prevention Cooperative Agreements, and they have shared their knowledge and insights with their colleagues at national conferences. Researchers who have studied coalitions, organizational development, and program evaluation also have been named here as contributors.

Other resources listed are organization web sites and publications—both online and in print-that add breadth and depth to the brief discussions presented here.

For more information about SAMHSA’s CMHS School Violence Prevention Initiative, contact the Special Programs Development Branch, Center for Mental Health Services, Parklawn Building Room 17-C-05, Rockville, MD 20857.
