Other Useful InformationMen’s Health Resources The men’s health resources were developed as part of the government’s gateway web site for health information. Men can find health information for their special needs. The men’s health resources were developed in response to consumer demand, and in part by the fact that many men are not educated about the value of prevention for prolonging their life span and maintaining their role in their family. This site offers health information in a private and confidential manner that some men will find more comfortable as a starting point to becoming more pro-active in their health. To access the men’s health information go to www.healthfinder.gov and click on “men” under “just for you” on the www.healthfinder.gov homepage. National Women’s Health Information Center (NWHIC) The NWHIC offers a one-stop gateway for women seeking answers to health questions. It is a free information and resource service on women’s health issues designed for consumers, health care professionals, researchers, educators and students. The web site is a direct connection to women’s health programs in the federal government. With access through both a toll-free telephone line 1-800-994-woman or web site www.WomensHealth.gov, the NWHIC acts as a federal “women’s health central.” The NWHIC can link directly to thousands of fact sheets, brochures, reports and other important health information.
