A bar graph showing the 2004 rates of readmission to a State psychiatric hospital within 30 days and within 180 days, by age. Excluding patients admitted through the criminal justice system, the overall readmission rate was 9 percent at 30 days and 20 percent at 180 days. The highest readmission rates at 30 days were for patients ages 18–20 (10 percent) and ages 21–64 (9 percent). The same age groups also had the highest readmission rates at 180 days (20 percent each).
