A line graph showing the number of beds per 100,000 civilian population by type of mental health organization. Between 1970 and 2002, there was a steep decline for State and county hospitals (from about 210 beds per 100,000 people to about 25 beds per 100,000 people). The bed/population ratio was between 0 and 25 for the remaining types of mental health organizations.
