A line graph showing the number of additions of mental health service lasting less than 24 hours per 100,000 civilian population, from 1969 to 2002. The biggest and fastest rate of growth was among all other mental health organizations, which peaked in 1998. There was a significant increase in the rate of growth at non-Federal general hospitals, which peaked in 2000. The rate of growth remained small but steady at the remaining types of mental health organizations offering less-than-24-hour care.
