How to Cite Our Publications or Web Site

Q. I need to cite your web site for a paper I'm writing. How do I do that?

A. The format for citing Internet material can be found in the APA Publication Manual. If you are citing a specific article within our site, it may be possible for our Information Specialists (1-800-789-2647) to provide you with an author, however for a general Internet citation, it is not necessary to use an author's name. For further information, please consult the most updated version of the APA Publication Manual or visit the APA Style Electronic References web site at http://www.apastyle.org/elecref.html The following references are sample citations for the text found on this page:
(if an author, John Doe, and date are listed - use the revision date at the bottom of the page)

Doe, J. (2003). Answers to Some Frequently Asked Questions. Retrieved month, day, year, from mentalhealth.samhsa.gov/publications/allpubs/government/default.asp

(if no author and no date - n.d.- are listed)

Answers to Some Frequently Asked Questions. (n.d.). Retrieved month, day, year, from mentalhealth.samhsa.gov/publications/allpubs/government/default.asp
